EXCEL COLORADO TEAM CAMP – ESTES PARK EVENT CENTER
CAMP #1 Estes Park, CO June 12th – 15th
Over the past three decades, the Colorado Excel National Team Camp has hosted high school coaches and teams from more than 20 states. For years, the Excel National Team Camp Duals have been a highlight of our summer. We will again run a 16+ dual meet format followed by an individual tournament. This will be our 25th year in Estes!
We are fortunate this summer to be at the Estes Park Event Center. It is a brand new state of the art facility. Coaches/Teams will have several options for lodging. We always encourage teams to camp out at a local campground. There are a couple different campgrounds in Estes. We will also have a block of rooms reserved at the Rodeway Inn. The Rodeway Inn is one of the largest hotels in Estes. It has an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, continental breakfast, free wifi, game room and picnic area.
If coaches would like to stay with their teams at the Rodeway Inn, get in touch with our office so we can make reservations for your group. A continental breakfast is provided at the Rodeway. Lunch and dinner will be on your own.
We will again assist teams with scheduling whitewater-rafting trips thru our office. And during the week, we will have some time for go-carts, aerial tram & mini-golf.

Summer Camp FAQ & Information
What is the supervision like?
Our Excel Coaching Staff works with the high school and local coaches to provide nonstop supervision. Our wrestlers are always under the guidance of a coach during our camps. In 20 years of Excel Wrestling camps, we have rarely had an issue with misbehavior or poor decision making from our campers. We like it that the young men and women who attend Excel Wrestling Camps are serious, committed wrestlers who care about their future and have respect for their teammates and coaches.
Workout gear, bedding, towels?
We strongly encourage our summer wrestlers to bring plenty of workout gear, enough that you can make it through the entire camp without doing laundry. We also encourage our resident campers to do laundry while they’re at camp and we do provide these facilities. It never hurts to have your own pillow and an extra blanket, especially in Estes as it can get chilly at night. Bring a clean towel for each day of camp.
Extra things that you might want to bring?
It never hurts to bring your own fruit, energy bars, gatorade, extra. You can also purchase these items at camp.
For commuters: Enough food to last you throughout the day. Commuters may leave between sessions.
For residents, Bring a few things to keep you busy during the downtime. There isn’t a lot but when there is, it might not be a bad idea to have a good book to read, We also encourage you to have adequate spending money.
